Wedding Velina & Pranil

This wedding was a great challenge for us because we had to incorporate a spear, a shield, a broom… and still create a romantic look for Velina and Pranil’s outdoor ceremony.
In fact, these components of the decoration were not arbitrarily chosen, but the bride wanted them to be present because they are part of her beloved’s culture. It turns out that there is a tradition in South Africa that 12 symbols must be present at every wedding.
After the exchange of vows, in ancient, Hindu tradition, the newlyweds exchanged wreaths of colorful flowers that signify their marriage union.
And beyond the traditions, this wedding was charged with many beautiful emotions because it had brought together a lot of love and many wonderful people.

Wine, because of the fusion of the blood of the two families;
Wheat, symbolizing fertility and the birth of new life;
Pepper, to remind that the couple will experience turbulent moments;
Salt, symbolizing healing and preserving the marriage;
Water, which washes away bad feelings and symbolizes purity;
Spices, symbolizing the problems the newlyweds will face;
Spoon and bowl, for the healthy food that builds a healthy family;
Shield, symbolizing the honor and pride of the home;
Spear, to protect the sanctity of the home;
Honey, sweet as the love between spouses;
Broom, symbol of prosperity, sweeps away the old and gives way to the new;
Bible, symbolizing God’s power and might.
